One of the first things guests at Terra Cotta notice is the impressive selection of localand regional art on display throughout the restaurant. Colorful paintings, sculptures and pottery reflecting the natural beauty and grandeur of the Southwest add another dimension to the unique atmosphere.
Wall to Wall Talent
Donna and Don are pleased to provide artists throughout the Southwest an arena to showcase their talents. Artists who display their work at Terra Cotta include:
Michael Santini - A long time resident of Tucson, Michael portrays life's mysteries as a still life in motion through the use of allegorical themes.
Linda Carter-Holman - Her lilies and ladies are larger than mere life, and so abundantly languid that the effect is at once thrilling and hypnotic.
Sergio Bustamante - Sergio, one of Mexico's most renowned artists, is a craftsman inspired by the dense and rich tradition of Jalisco.
Poteet Victory - His art reflects his deep concern and involvement with the universal language of the divine and his own spiritual growth.
Richard Zane Smith - Of Wyandotte descent, his amazing and beautiful pots are constructed with tiny coils, following the model of the prehistoric corrugated ware of the Southwest. His pottery accentuates texture and is often mistaken for basketry.
Tom Perkinson - His vibrant Visionary Art alludes to a boundless spiritual world inspired by the mystery, drama and colorful tribal dances of the Native American people.
Rhett Lynch - A Navajo artist, Rhett's painting, "Self Portrait, I Think My Head is on Fire", is aflame with vibrant colors.
Lawrence Lee - His powerful paintings and bronzes of shamanistic figures are treasured by Collectors throughout the world for their intensity, luminosity and superb craftsmanship.
Jack Eggman - A true innovator, he is best known for his original southwestern monoprints with copper inserts.
Bill Worrell - His sculptures and paintings receive tremendous respect for their representations of Indian beliefs such as fertility, strength, and rebirth.
Wine Label Artists' Series
In addition to regularly showcased artists, Terra Cotta commissions an original piece of artwork every 12-18 months to use in the Wine Label Artists' Series. The original art is placed on display, and full-color reproductions of the piece are composed into labels for the Café Terra Cotta house wine collection, menu covers, postcards, promotional pieces, and brochures. The Wine Label Artists' Series provides another unprecedented avenue for southwestern artists to exhibit their work and reflects Terra Cotta's drive to create a dining experience unlike any other.
